Art and Craft
Wood carving and things made out of it make for the major attraction of
the Chaugan Village. Handicraft items and souvenirs made out of
Lantana Americana wood are a charm to see. Traditional Honey
Harvesting is also carried out in Chaugan. The process of making
honey is quite interesting and can be watched here at length.
The simple people of Chaugan have the famous harvest festival known as
Madahi. Chugan villagers are specialists in agriculture.The Sacred
Tribal Seat, Madhiyaji, is the most revered seat of all. The
seniormost person is the is the preist of the Madhiyaji. He has a
important role in taking major decisions of the village.
